Geologist and GIS technician who automates his own work. Thirteen years turning messy spatial data into standards-compliant output — petroleum block coordinates at CNOOC Shenzhen, civic addressing and land information at the City of Winnipeg.
In both roles I built the tooling myself, because no employer ever provided software that could do the job. TRANSCO cut a 50-block batch that took roughly an hour per block by hand to about 10 minutes; the civic-addressing workflow cut a typical task from 21 hours to 3 hours.
Currently a GIS Technician with Land Information Services at the City of Winnipeg. Permanent Resident of Canada.
Tried Linux in 2004, using it daily since 2016. I like open source, technology, reading, and learning.
